TV star DAVINA MCCALL has revealed that she wants to quit presenting to pursue serious acting roles.
She has even hired Michael Foster, the man who was behind BILLIE PIPER's transformation from songstress to actress, to mastermind the next stage of her career.
As part of her career move, Davina will reportedly quit her job as the face of BIG BROTHER when the ninth series ends this September.
"After doing so many series of Big Brother she's become bored," an insider tells the News Of The World, adding that she feels it is "the right time to move on".
"She's very excited and convinced that Michael can turn her into a serious actor."
Any roles that she is given will not be Davina's first acting gig she starred in the TV sitcom SAM'S GAME in the 1990s.
This follows news that songstress LILY ALLEN is also contemplating a career change and is turning her hand to comedy sketch writing along with her TV star pals JAMES CORDEN and MATTHEW HORNE of GAVIN AND STACEY fame.

Ageing pin-up LONI ANDERSON has married folk singer BOB FLICK.
The 62-year-old WKRP In Cincinnati star exchanged nuptials with The Brothers Four singer Flick in a ceremony on Saturday night (17May08), which was attended by friends and family.
Anderson was given away by her son Quinton, from her former marriage to actor Burt Reynolds, which ended in divorce in 1993.
The couple originally dated for six months when Anderson was a teenage model, but they split and went their separate ways as her acting career took off.
It is the fourth marriage for Anderson, who has decided to keep her maiden name.
She has also previously been wed to Ross Bickell and Bruce Hasselbeck.
Even though it drew its lowest ratings in five years, last Tuesday night's American
Idol still was the second-most watched show of the week last week, beaten only
by the Wednesday-night edition of Idol, which drew its lowest numbers in three
years. For a May sweeps week, it might as well have been June. Except for the two
Idol shows, none had enough appeal to draw more than 20 million viewers. (There
was a time when all of the top-ten shows during a sweeps week routinely attracted
20 million viewers or more.) CBS remained the nation's most-watched network again
last week, averaging a 6.7 rating and an 11 share (or about 10.6 million viewers).
ABC placed second with a 6.2/11. Fox followed with a 5.5/9 (although it continued
to top the list among adults 18-49); NBC remained last among the major networks with
a 4.0/7.
The top ten shows of the week according to Nielsen Research:
1. American
Idol (Wednesday), Fox, 13.9/21; 2. American Idol (Tuesday), Fox, 12.6/20;
3. Dancing With the Stars (Tuesday), ABC, 12.0/18; 4. Dancing With the
Stars (Monday), ABC, 11.7/19; 5. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS,
11.4/17; 6. Grey's Anatomy, ABC, 10.5/16; 7. Without a Trace, CBS,
9.8/16; 8. Desperate Housewives, ABC, 9.7/15; 9. CSI: Miami, CBS, 9.5/16;
10. NCIS, CBS, 8.9/14.

U.S. comic EDDIE GRIFFIN is facing legal action from a member of a TV crew who claims to have been assaulted by the star.
Vince Beane has filed papers at Los Angeles Superior Court accusing the stand-up comedian of attacking him on 10 March (08).
At the time of the alleged incident, Beane was working as a production manager on a pilot TV show starring Griffin, and he claims the star flew into a drunken rage when he discovered he had been booked into a "cheap three star hotel" - allegedly taking his anger out on Beane.
The TV firm - The Leslie Grief Company - is also named in the suit, according to TMZ.com. Bosses are accused of plying Griffin with alcohol and then failing to protect staff from "the violent propensity of the inebriated Eddie Griffin."
